I’m very eager to announce our newly revitalized website. Starting now, we plan to post new Family Home Evening lessons, family traditions & activities, and spiritual messages once a week (or more). New content will focus on strengthening families & individuals. We will also include book recommendations that have been influential in strengthening our family. New posts should appear by Friday every week.
I started this website while deployed in Iraq in 2004 as a fun way to share spiritual messages and strengthen our immediate family. Several family members assisted with content. Overtime, the vision of this website evolved to strengthen families everywhere, but my life experience, testimony, and private personality did not offer the spiritual reserves necessary to regularly offer content.
The idea always remained in mind and the site kept running. My personal testimony has grown exponentially and for the last couple of years I have written monthly messages to friends and family who are serving missions. Our family also concentrated efforts to develop strong family bonds in our home. Family Prayer, Family Scripture Study, and Family Home Evening are a significant part of our family strength. These experiences have encouraged me to experiment with this site again.
After spending a considerable amount of time re-learning website development, it was clear WordPress was the way forward (and something new to learn). For the last few weeks we’ve been setting things up, styling the website, and transferring our previous content into the new website. We’ve updated the previous content to remove broken links, offer more pictures, and review for relevance.
I’ve compiled several of our favorite Family Home Evening / Family Night ideas and look forward to adding a lot of new content to our website. Each addition is created with the intent to spiritually uplift and encourage strong family bonds.
Please tell us what you think of the new website design (I’m especially interested in feedback and recommendations from WordPress experts…or amateurs) and check back once a week for new materials that will inspire and strengthen your family.
